Detailed Itinerary
Take a morning flight to Leh. Take two days to acclimitise to an altitude of 3,500 m / 11,500 ft. Start the trip with a visit to the Shanti Stupa overlooking the Indus Valley.
Drive along the Indus River towards Lamayuru, one of the Ladakh’s oldest shrines. Visit theGompa and spend time relishing the art and culture. Admire the stunning geological formation called Moonland as it looks akin to the Moon terrain.
Drive North towards Nubra Valley and cross the Khardhung-la pass at an altitude of 5600 m / 18,380 ft. Enjoy a breathtaking view of Zanskar, Ladakh and the Karakoram ranges, a once in a lifetime experience. Spend the night at a home stay or in a tent.
Early morning take a day trip to Pongong Tso Lake, crossing a pass at an elevation of 5,450 m / 17,880 ft. There is no better sight in Leh than the azure blue waters of the lake. The bright blue lake stretches for more that 100 km / 62 mi. Spend some quiet time there before you get back to Leh.
