Reach Kochi – the commercial capital of Kerala. Often called the Queen of the Arabian Sea, Kochi is the oldest European settlement in India. Explore the city on your own and at sunset take a Boat Cruise on the backwaters and admire the great charm of this city.
Modern Kochi has a lot of European and Arabian influence and thus, is a mosaic of myriad influences. You start your day with a trip to the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, the Church of St. Francis, the Bolghatty Palace and have a look at the famous Chinese fishing nets. In the evening enjoy a live performance of Kathakali dance.
Drive to Munnar and relish the dramatic mountain scenery and a fine blend of craggy Peaks and Manicured Tea Estates. The crisp mountain air makes the greenery and serenity of Munnara perennial favourite of ‘Honeymooners’. Explore the sprawling tea, rubber and eucalyptus plantations and walk around in the natural grasslands and pine forests.Visit Eravikulam National park, Rajamalai and Mattupetty dam.
Drive to Periyar, renowned for some of the bestwildlife sanctuaries in India, home to elephants, spice plantations and scenic beauty. The best way to explore this sanctuary is on a boat ride. You could also feast your eyes on Wild Boars, Sambar, Wild Dogs, Langur Monkeys, Bison and Red foxes. In the afternoon visit the spice plantations. You can also buy some spices as well. Overnight at Periyar.
After breakfast take a walk around the Spice Village to see the various spices grown in the resort garden. Thereafter, drive through the winding “Ghats” and reach the beautiful countryside of low-lying palms and paddy fields in Kumarakom. Visitthebeautiful backwater village on the shores of the enchanting Vembanad Lake. Relax at the waterfront and soak in the enchanting beauty of thisarea. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Begin with a farm visitand watch the locals fishing. Enjoy a sun set cruise on a Rice Boat. You can also learn to prepare a few delicious Kerala Seafood dishes. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, take a boat ride across Lake Veranad to Puthenangadi & drive to Marari Beach. Enjoy a day of leisure at the beach resort.
Drive to Kovalam, a quaint beach town on the way to Trivandrum. This ancient city is hidden inside lush greenery and built on seven tiny hills. Visit the magnificent Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the landmark of the city. Also, go to the Napier Museum to see some rare collection of archaeological and historic artifacts. You could also go to Sree Chitra Art Gallery located inside the Museum campus and admire paintings of Raja Ravi Varma, Svetlova and Nicholas Roerich. You should also check out the SMSM Institute (The State Handicraft Emporium) and Veli Tourist Village, a picnic spot with a boating facility. Spend the evening indulging in some water sports on the beach.
Spend the day at Kanyakumari, the most southern tip of the country. Visit the stunning Padmanabhapuram Palace and spend some time admiring the unique experiences of the sunset & rise of the moon over the ocean. Spend the night at Kovalam Resort.
Transfer to the airport to head back homeward.
