Fly into Mumbai. Check in at your hotel and drive along the picturesque Marine Drive, the display of the city.
Visit the Gateway of India in Colaba, the entrance into the country. Visit Mani Bhavan (Residence of Gandhi) and the open air washing place of Dhobi Ghat. It is amazing to see how the launderers work there.
Fly from Bombay to Bhavnagar, a port city located in Gujarat. Visit the Shatrunjaya Hill in Palitana, a sacred pilgrimage hill covered with more than 800 Jain temples. Stay overnight in Bhavnagar
Drive to the breathtaking town of Diu, a former Portuguese trading post. Spend a leisurely afternoon on the beaches. Visit some churches and a Fort built by the Sultans of Gujarat.
Head to Somnath Temple, the famous phoenix like temple standing tall above the beach. This legendary temple was destroyed several times, notably by Mahmoud of Ghazni, an Afghan king. Proceed along the coast to Porbandar, Mahatama Gandhi’s birth place and home town.
Go to Kirti Mandir, Gandhi’s ancestral family house. Today, it has been converted into a memorial dedicated to the Mahatma’s life. Also visit the palaces of Huzoor, Daria Rajmahal, Darbagadh, and Bharat & Sudama temples to appreciatethe architecture.
Drive to Junagadh. Visit Uperkot Citadel, Mahabat Maqbara & Darbar Hall Museum.
Day trip to Girnar, a cluster of mountains rising up to 1,030 meter. A stone path allows you to travel from peak to peak and paves a steep way for pilgrims towards Jain & Hindu temples.
Drive to Rajkot and visit Gandhi’s childhood residence called “Kaba Gandhi No Delo” or Gandhi Smriti. Also visit Rashtriya Shala institute, an integral part of Gandhi’s non-cooperation movement against British occupation.
Drive to Bhuj in the heart of Kutch, a former kingdom located near the border of Pakistan. Visit the Swaminarayan Temple and buy some amazing Kachchh handicrafts, world famous for their colours and intricate work..
Kutch is renowned for its tribal handicraft of potteries and textiles. Spend time exploring villages and discovering various forms of local craft. Indulge in some shopping as they make for charming souvenirs.
Enter the Little Rann of Kutch, a saltmarsh swamped during monsoon by seawater and rivers. It is home to some great wildlife like Wild Ass, Indian Wolf, Desert fox and Nilgai. You should also check out the mirage effect at the Rann, an out of this world experience. Check into your lodge in Dasada.
Early morning drive into the Wild Ass Sanctuary, where you can feast your eyes on some great wildlife. In the afternoon enjoy a jeep safari into neighbouring tribal Rabari villages to experience the local culture and cuisine.
Drive to Ahmedabad en route visiting the iconic Sun Temple in Modhera. Later in Patan, visit Rani-ki-Vav, an amazing baoli (stepwells) built in 1024 to collect monsoon waters.
